Vital Topics: The Oscars (and Movies in General, Really)

Does anyone else feel like they used to take movies incredibly seriously, but suddenly, in the last few years, has found their interest and excitement waning?  This is correlated with a number of changes I’ve been feeling recently, but is among the most striking.  I honestly used to feel like movies were one of the most important things in my life, and yet this year, I found myself in a movie theater only three times.*  I’ve been trying to figure out what this means, and was very happy to be joined by some delightful folks in that quest.  Hope you enjoy!

*Thankfully, one of them was for “Rango,” which heartily deserved its award last night—I’m serious, that movie is fantastic.  It is bizarre, funny, complex, and heartwarming. DO NOT HATE UNTIL YOU INVESTIGATE.
